Dry Riesling
Vintage: 2009. Limited Edition.
Colour: Pale rim graduating to a pale lemon core.
Aroma: Could be described as enticing; you'll discover honey-suckle, beeswax and lemon zest intermingled with lemon blossom and grapefruit.
Palate: The palate can be described as fine with a zesty citrus tang. Reminiscent of Mum's home-made lemonade combined with subtle ginger characters. Time in the glass reveals obvious minerality.
VITICULTURE
Terroir: Soil: Stony, free draining, fine clay silt loams.
2009 Sunshine Hours: 2479 (at parity with long term average).
2009 Growing Degree Days: 1278 (slightly down on long term average).
2009 Regional Rainfall: 610 (slightly down on long term average).
Canopy Management Regime: Vertical Shoot Positioning, North-South Facing rows.
Harvest Method: Machine harvested.
Harvest Date: 03rd April.
OENOLOGY
Fermentation: Extremely low free run cut: 379 litres per tonne. Ferment initiated with refined yeast Siha 7. Cool fementation in stainless steel tanks to accentuate delicate aromas and flavours.
Residual Sugar: 6.7 g/l
Alcohol Content: 12.5%
Titratable Acid: 7.4 g/l
pH: 3.04
