Pinot Gris

Vintage: 2009.  Limited Edition.  Total production only 3,726 bottles produced.
Colour: Pale rim graduating to a pale straw core.
Aroma: A lifted nose showing characteristics of spiced apple, beeswax and nectarine.
Palate: The palate is fine, youthful and dry.  The mouth-feel soft.  A subtle spiciness shows through with hints of vanilla green tea.

VITICULTURE

Terroir: Soil: free draining, fine sandy, silt loam over alluvial gravels.
2009 Sunshine Hours: 2479 (at parity with long term average).
2009 Growing Degree Days: 1278 (slightly below long term average).
2009 Regional Rainfall: 610mm (slightly below long term average).

Canopy Management Regime: Vertical Shoot Positioning, North-South Facing rows.  Two cane pruning regime.
Harvest Method: Hand harvested.
Harvest Date: 04th April.

OENOLOGY

Fermentation: Whole bunch pressed and the free run juice enzyme settled before ready for cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks.  Cool fermentation improves finesse and delicacy.
Residual Sugar: 4.5 g/l
Alcohol Content: 14.0%
Titratable Acid: 5.7 g/l
pH: 3.36
